Responsible for sustaining a sterile environment by disinfecting and cleaning patient rooms, offices, operating rooms and hallways throughout the Medical Center to provide an orderly and attractive environment. Operates equipment and machinery to maintain cleanliness. DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Operates electric floor machines and vacuums to clean and polish floors. Operates electric cleaning equipment to shampoo rugs, carpets, and furnishing. Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties: Mix and use chemical striper to remove wax finishes from floors. Mix detergents, germicides, and cleaning solutions according to formulas. Thoroughly clean and disinfect mattresses, bed frame, headboard, footboard, and bed springs to assure cleanliness of beds after every patient is discharged. Terminally cleans Operating Rooms within the Medical Center by cleaning ceiling to floor. Responsible for scrubbing and flooding floors within each Operating Room.
