We now find ourselves seeking a hospitality-oriented individual with a passion for design and events to be the next Senior Design and Development Manager for our Arizona office! Duties and responsibilities of a SENIOR DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER...

  • Successfully support large and complex client programs.
  • Generate creative content and pricing for proposals, taking direction from the Sales Department and Client.
  • Assist in client communication and on-site as needed.
  • Ensure proposal timelines and deadlines are met.
  • Assist in site inspection planning and execution to include creation of site inspection documents, booking of vendors, paying vendors, and invoices for clients.
  • Provide accurate pricing for all services provided. Obtain accurate and cost-effective quotes that meet the agreed upon sales requirements per generated proposals or contracts.
  • Book and maintain tentative holds for venues/activities for proposals being generated. Release or contract vendors as required in relation to the proposal/contract in question.
  • Contact and confirm vendor and supplier services/products within the designated time frame.
  • Continuously and proactively define the program details with the Sales Department and Client through contract creation.
  • Generate diagrams, contracts, attachments, and deposit invoices for Clients.
  • Ensure pre-turnover processes are met prior to turnover to Operations Department
  • Continue to act as a liaison with operations during final program development and fulfillment.
  • Mastery of 360DG processes and formatting.
  • Ability to assist in training new Design & Development Managers on processes and formatting. Research/communicate with suppliers, provide an accurate assessment, and maintain good vendor relationships.
  • Maintain and organize vendor tariff folders; ensure all pricing and descriptions are valid and clearly labeled/saved. Save any newly developed activity, d cor, teambuilding, etc. write ups in the proposal tariff.
  • Assist in organizing familiarization tours for clients and prospective clients and assist in overseeing local sales-related special projects, including, but not limited to: local client events, hotelier appreciation events, sponsorship and promotional commitments, and planning/execution of sales events with various hotel partners both locally and nationally.
  • Work with Marketing on sales materials, such as the Weekenders, Photo Pages, and Area Guides, and website content, such as gathering photos and descriptions.
  • Assist Account Executives in creating and facilitating hotel drops.
  • Maintain a presence on social media and other sales outreach platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date and on the pulse of events, new venues, and new experiences in local destination.
  • Follow all accounting and procedural guidelines with respect to deposits, vendor payments and American Express expense reports.
  • Report to local office in Scottsdale as required by General Manager (2-3 days).

We are seeking someone with...

  • Six or more years total work experience with a minimum of three years of hospitality experience.
  • Proficiency in client relations, proposal writing, detailed budget management, event design, contract management, and vendor relations.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Knowledgeable of the local destination offerings such as restaurants, clubs, festivals, tours, and venues.
