This is a full time, benefits eligible position working from 6:00pm to 6:30am (75hrs biweekly)

Schedule

  • Week 1: Thursday & Friday
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday


Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, supervise and execute the Nursing Plan of Care for each resident on their designated Hall.
  • Integrate the Nursing/Therapeutic plan of care in collaboration with Supervisor and Therapy team. Delegates aspects of plan to Direct Care staff. Maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Participate in I.H.P. conferences and periodic reviews.
  • Evaluate prospective new admissions from a nursing viewpoint in cooperation with the Director of Nursing.
  • Review conditions of residents with Primary Care Physician and Director of Nursing, records and implements physician's orders including administration of medications, treatments, diet orders, etc. Is responsible for following up on diagnostic tests, special studies and other procedures in conjunction with Nurse Manager.
  • Makes provisions in providing medications, copies of prescriptions, in conjunction with Social Service department when a resident is transferred or returns to home for extended visits. Will also provide instructions to family members, staff of facility when a transfer is involved regarding the medical concerns that should be monitored or guarded against.
  • Confer with Nurse Manager as required on conditions of residents, updates plan of care, maintains documentation on changes in conditions of residents, and updates appropriate staff of these changes.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Policies and Procedures of St. Edmond's Home and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains a current understanding of all emergency medical procedures as the appropriate standard of care dictates. And, to assure compliance with any policies/guidelines as they pertain to emergency medical procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • 1-3 years nursing experience
  • 1-3 years pediatric experience
  • Previous experience with physically disabled and developmentally disabled children is a plus.


Work Environment

  • Stands, walks, bends and uses hands frequently throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push, pull and move residents, equipment, supplies, etc., with assistance.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
