REPORTS TO: Sr. VP of Operations

SUPERVISES: Area Assistants, Supervisors, Area Trainers Area and Account Managers, Area Cleaners and General Cleaners

BASIC FUNCTION: Plans, organizes and directs the cleaning efforts within district or branch teaming the efforts of Area/Account Managers. Is responsible for maintaining CleanPower standards, developing team, and monitoring budgeted hours and proper staffing levels. Indirectly responsible for all hourly employees within assigned area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads by example to present CleanPower as a professional janitorial service in the market place.
  • Creates and maintains a team atmosphere, where Manager/employee satisfaction and retention is the result.
  • Works with and motivates Area/Account Managers to achieve their goals and objectives including: documented visitations, safety reporting, QAs, employee training and development (retention), daily rosters/reports, daily TEAM reports and budgets, L.O.S., and any and all other projects or duties as assigned.
  • Assists in planning and organizing new account start-ups.
  • Ensures through account visitations that CleanPower standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Is directly responsible for current area of accounts and account retention.
  • Assists in the growth of the Branch.
  • Notifies the Sr. VP of the following:
    • Quality Assurance Inspection results and actions
    • Employee issues
    • Extra sales figures
    • Customer visit information
    • Budgeted variations in daily hours
    • Weekend staffing information
    • Contingency plans in progress
    • General building information
    • Safety issues
  • Works with the COO and Business Development on pricing increases, contract negotiations and service reviews as needed.
  • Maintains TEAM labor budgets and reporting through hands on use of the system. Has an understanding of the use of the TEAM system.
  • Reviews and monitors staffing levels, and provides information to Human Resources department.
  • Directs operations within their area to ensure performance of work is in accordance with contract specifications. Analyzes results and takes immediate corrective action when needed.
  • Ensures proper handling of customer complaints and problems and keeps the Vice President of Operations and President informed of these issues and resolution of these issues.
  • Aids in controlling labor and wages in order to achieve budgeted profit goals.
  • Works with Sales and Area/Account Managers to sell additional services, as needed.
  • Consistently maintains open two-way communication on all levels.
  • Always has CleanPowers standards, company policies, procedures and best interests in mind
  • Covers for Managers that are on vacation, out sick or areas where no Manager is assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains customer relations through regularly scheduled visitations.
  • Completes regular required Quality Assurance Inspections of all buildings in the area (monthly or more frequently as required). Develops action plans based on the results of the Quality Assurance Inspection.
  • Utilizes available resources to train all new employees with a focus on long term retention.
  • Supports, directs and trains Building Supervisors with a focus on account and employee retention.
  • Manages employee performance and conduct through the progressive discipline policy. Ensures company policies and procedures are followed by applying appropriate disciplinary actions and documenting as needed. Consults with Human Resources Department through the process.
  • Promotes a safe work environment at field accounts, receives and processes employee accident reports. Ensures injuries are treated as necessary and communicates promptly with Human Resources Department, and assists in Return to Work program, as required.
  • Completes timely and accurate follow up to customer survey information. Looks to implement long-term solutions to issues.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to Human Resources regarding current and future staffing needs.
  • Manages supply inventory at field accounts and properly follows on-line ordering procedures with outside vendor. As required, delivers supplies, equipment and laundry to all locations.
  • Conducts monthly Crew Communications Meetings at field account locations.
  • Cleans accounts when necessary due to employee staffing issues.
  • Performs any and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Min 4 years of management experience in a multi-facility and services environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Janitorial or other service related background
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Must be over 18
