28233BRService Line:EnvironmentalOffice Name:New OrleansJob Description:General Responsibilities:Perform tests and sampling of environmental materials including air, groundwater, building materials, and noise. Operates field monitoring equipment. Assists with operation and maintenance of remediation systems. May assist with asbestos surveys, abatement projects and Phase I preliminary site assessments. Transport material samples or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis. Tabulate and prepare data for written reports. Cleans and maintains field monitoring equipment. Adhere to strict safety standards.Essential Roles and Responsibilities:Independently performs non-routine and complex field testing on larger and more diverse projects.Directs lower level technicians on projects.Calibrate field monitoring equipment such as PID or combustible gas indicator.Sample suspect asbestos-containing building materials in accordance with AHERA guidelines.Assist with installation and maintenance of remediation systems.Perform oversight and air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects.Perform complex monitoring and well sampling.Performs advanced fieldwork and assists with project management.Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor s degree in environmental science preferred.Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.Certification in field of expertise required.
