We are seeking a Construction Inspector (Landscape Architecture) to join our Southern California team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Capable of assisting the Resident Engineer in all aspects of required field Landscape Architectural Construction Inspection services and office engineering work.
- Understand client and customer needs
- Operate within the customers safety protocols at all times
- Complete all required documentation including Inspector s Daily Reports on a daily basis
- Must be capable of performing inspection for quality workmanship, including field measurements of construction materials and products
- Monitor construction Contractor s quality control operations, traffic control operations and monitor any special environmental contract requirements
- Identify changes, errors or field adjustments to the contract documents and recommend action to the Resident Engineer
- Monitor Prevailing Wage laws, regulations, and labor compliance
Minimum requirements:
- Graduation from a four-year curriculum in Landscape Architecture.
- A documented minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience in Landscape construction inspection of highways or major public works projects
- Or
- A master's or doctorate degree in Landscape Architecture or a baccalaureate degree in Landscape Architecture
- A documented minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience in Landscape Architecture construction inspection for highways or major public works projects
- AND
- Experience working with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) standards, specifications, and Construction Manual and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) procedures
- Knowledge and experience with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program and the General Permit.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must meet internal requirements for operation of company vehicles throughout duration of employment and must maintain a valid driver s license and insurable driving record.
- Must be willing and able to travel to job sites, sometimes for extended periods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation, and color vision
- Moving, carrying, and lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds
- Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
- Working in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
Compensation:
$60 - $100 hourly
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
