EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Ten years' work experience in similar and/or related field required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-one-one and small group situations to contractors, staff, and other employees of CCPS.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Possesses or has the ability to secure a Commercial Class B Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
Working knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance normally acquired through 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and school faculty.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education policies.
A willingness to take such additional training as required to successfully perform assigned duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintains athletic fields and grounds.
Conducts routine operational and preventive maintenance checks related to maintenance and repair of gas- and diesel-powered equipment to include inspecting, testing, cleaning, lubricating, and as necessary repairing or replacing defective parts.
Performs maintenance duties such as grounds maintenance and mowing, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and welding, filter changing.
Works from step and extension ladders, scaffolds, man lifts, scissors lifts, arial boom lifts and bucket truck.
Maintains all safety and code requirements of the State, local and Board of Education guidelines.
Loads and tows equipment trailers.
Operates commercial and agricultural tractors, lawn equipment, backhoe, excavators, and skid steer.
Operates various types of mechanical equipment.
Uses smartphone, tablet, and laptop to access and enter information required for maintenance work order system and time keeping.
Performs other duties as assigned by Foreman.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and operate machinery. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climbs on to ladders. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds such as a toolbox. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 lbs. such as furniture or equipment. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, scaffolds, and cabinets. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus. The employee will regularly work indoors and outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment. The employee may work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, sprays, cleaners, fertilizers, seed, and non-household dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally will work in a loud area.
