Laboratory Technician

Overview:

• The duties of this position includes but is not limited to accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness.
• Position utilizes automation and computerization, and manual methods.
• Responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• May be involved in teaching and training, but not in a leadership position.
• Position handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid and other body fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood borne pathogens.

Core Lab Tech

• 6 month contract to hire
• (1) 2nd shift: 3pm - 11:30pm, M-F
• (1) 3rd shift: 11pm - 8:30am, M-F
• Training on day shift for the first 6-8 weeks
• Working onsite at Nationwide Children's in the Core Lab

What makes up this core lab?

• Hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, coag, gases

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a biological, chemical, physical science or MLS/MLT OR Associate's degree in MLT/MLS
• Experience in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis required - looking for a generalist to work on the bench
• Chemistry: Reading and understanding differentials
• ASCP certification preferred, not required
• Someone who is ready to jump in and hit the ground running
