Complex Litigation Associate Attorney


Job Details

We are in search of a motivated attorney to join a complex litigation team at a great firm! This firm has multiple offices across the country and needs an associate for the Philadelphia, PA office. This plaintiffs' firm is known for fighting for justice. While it is a large firm with great resources and benefits, this office is smaller and has a great team atmosphere!


Example Job Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions, and memorandum
  • Involved in the intake and case development process including drafting complaints and guiding clients through the case process
  • Involved in discovery including document review and analysis and discovery disputes
  • Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports, and affidavits
  • Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
  • Minimum and Additional Qualifications:

    • A JD from an accredited law school and a member of the NJ or PA Bar in good standing
    • 3-5 years of experience practicing as an attorney with knowledge of and experience in litigation and Federal Rules of civil procedure
    • Experience with complex litigation or mass torts
    • Strong legal writing skills including experience in drafting briefs and other legal documents
    • Ability to express arguments and conclusions clearly and logically
    • Ability to analyze and synthesize facts, evidence, and legal theory and to understand and craft legal pleadings, discovery, and proposed orders
    • Detail-oriented, hardworking, and results-driven team player
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience gathering evidence to be used in trial & interviewing key witnesses
    • Experience conducting depositions, preferred but not required
    • Experience trying cases, preferred but not required
    • Travel out of state may be required
    • The position may require working more than 40 hours per week
