Job Summary
The Village of Foxfire NC seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our Administrative TEAM.
The Village has a population of approximately 1,450 and a 2024/2025 budget of 1.8 million.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of best bookkeeping practices, excellent organizational skills, proficiency in various computer programs, and strong customer service skills. The candidate should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team and willing to learn. Municipal office experience is a plus! Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Village Administrator and is evaluated through observation, review of records and reports, and conferences.
This is a full-time position with a beginning salary of $30,000 - $35,000 based on experience, with a generous benefits package that includes medical/dental/vision/life insurance, paid vacation/sick/holidays, a 5% 401 (k) contribution, and Local Government Retirement. Job Duties
Perform primary bookkeeping functions for the Village of Foxfire.
Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions and general ledger entries
Responsible for all daily financial transactions, preparation of bank deposits, and daily trips to the bank.
Assist Village CPA with the reconciliation of bank statements
Review and manage delinquent property tax accounts.
Work with the Village Council Finance Officer to prepare the yearly budget and budget message.
Assist the CPA, Auditor, and Finance Officer as needed in the review and update of the year-end financial report.
Prepare budget ordinance amendments.
Assist the Water Department as needed with monthly billing, processing of water utility payments, and reviewing past-due accounts.
Assist residents with questions and concerns.
Other duties as required.
