A well established mechanical contractor in the Mercer County, NJ area is looking for a Journeyman electrician to join their team! Great chance to join an organization that has been in business for over 60 years!
Duties/Responsibilities:
Install complete electrical raceways systems such as EMT, RMC, PVC, cable tray, troughs and more.
* Install wires and cables through electrical raceways.
* Install panelboards, switchboards, switchgears, MCC, and control panels.
* Install various forms of switching and receptacle outlet devices.
* Troubleshoot electrical and controls circuitry and devices up to 480VAC.
* Install various forms of luminaires.
* Ensure all electrical installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
* Install motors, transformers, and generators.
* Install communications, ethernet, and fiber optic lines.
* Install VFDs, PLC, control relays, power supplies, safety relays, proximity switches, and other
instrumentation and control devices.
* Test electrical systems installation to ensure proper installation and operation.
* Connect electrical systems to utility power.
* Participate in continuous safety and electrical education.
* Travel to different job sites.
* Work overtime, nights, weekends and or holidays as needed.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
* Ensures housekeeping conformance of jobsite, including trailers, trucks, laydown, and waste storage
areas, to Marshall and/or customer standards.
* Develops and maintains their own technical competence.
* Completes other tasks as assigned by Service Rep or Foreman.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or at least five (5) years of experience working in the
electrical industry.
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
* Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
* Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
