Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Responsible for the setup and maintenance of all new items (Warehouse and DSD) that have been approved by the Category Teams. This includes following the business rules established by the subject matter experts to comply with all Regulatory laws (Tax, Food Stamps, WIC, age restricted products) in the states Weis Markets operates.Knowledge of all required item attributes for perishable and non-perishable categories is required.Verify UPC other package and/or case characteristics for new items entered into the Item Master Data system.
  • Responsible for set-up and maintenance of vendors as directed by the Merchandising or Procurement teams.
  • Responsible for creating price and cost associations as requested by the Pricing and Procurement teams.
  • Responsible for all manual promotional billing not captured via the vendor portal, which includes all Nonperishable and Perishable Departments, as required to meet department deadlines based on submission date.
  • Entry of cost changes, into the Item Master Data system upon receipt and approval from the Merchandising team.
  • Associate is responsible for updating item information as identified utilizing Data Integrity reports.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of product status, including the discontinuing of items, and enter discontinued markdowns and billing for eligible items.
  • Key and verify distributions as supplied by the Procurement team.
  • Update item restrictions and authorizations as provided from the Shelf Management Department.
  • Entry of Ice Cream production data as provided by the Ice Cream Plant.
  • Answer the telephone to screen calls and either respond promptly to questions and inquiries or transfer the calls to the appropriate individual for action.
  • Compile, copy, sort, file, and fax various documents; compose short letters or memos.


Occasional Duties and Responsibilities

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

Respond and resolve store support questions to provide quick resolution to store and customer. Miscellaneous work and seasonal demands from management as requested. Assist with Special Projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

- Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus two (2) years' experience in an office environment.

- Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other associates. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

- Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw, and interpret bar graphs.
