Office Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5pm, and Fridays 7:30am-2pm (In-Office)

For over 40 years, The FRICKS Company has specialized in the design, construction and finishing of the most durable concrete floor surfaces in the world - extending the life of the floor surface by up to 10 times that of conventional concrete. Our projects range nationwide from distribution, food processing and cold storage facilities.


Purpose:

This position is to keep our fleet of equipment, vehicles, and machinery operational.


You will conduct repairs, update service and repair records, maintain our tools and equipment, run diagnostic test on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance, this includes a wide variety of gasoline, alternative fuel, and diesel-powered equipment, automobiles; light, medium and heavy duty trucks; and construction equipment.


Ensures that company vision, core values, goals, purpose, and culture are being driven, exemplified, shared, and taught with consistency.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
  • Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
  • Performing and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service to ensure the Company s objectives, project goals and budgets are met.
  • Handling concerns and requests from the Field quickly and professionally.
  • Ensures equipment, vehicle or machinery is running efficiently before returning to the user.
  • May modify, fabricate, and install special equipment as necessary.
  • Pick up parts and supplies if needed.
  • Monitoring equipment serviceability problems and complaints to create methods to lessen recurring issues.
  • Auditing work and service to ensure the Company's high standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with our Field Crews, equipment manufacturers, dealers, and sales representatives.
  • Helping to train new employees in company procedures with regards to safe and proper operations of equipment and preventative maintenance at the operator level that can prevent or reduce malfunctions and breakdowns.
  • Maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company's adherence to these regulations, and remaining current on the industry's standards and new innovations, materials, tools, and processes.


Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years' experience as a mechanical technician with strong industry knowledge.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostic testing software.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Great organizational and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs outside of business hours.
  • Willingness to travel to jobsites to provide service and training to onsite personnel.


Technical Skills:

  • Completion of a technical or trade school program in automotive and heavy truck technology, preferred.
  • Existing or ability to obtain University of Multiquip (UMQ) training and course completion for applicable concrete and masonry equipment with both online and in-person instruction.
  • Existing or ability to obtain Certified Service Training with Wacker Neuson University for applicable concrete and masonry equipment with both online and in-person instruction.
  • Existing or ability to obtain service training for Somero laser screed equipment with both online and in-person instruction through the Somero Virtual Training Program and Somero Concrete Institute.


Physical Requirement:

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate and reach for tools and equipment.
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, squat and bend for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
  • Requires full range of body movement.
  • Overtime as needed
  • Able to work in Shop/Warehouse environment, indoor/outdoor, and occasional inclement weather conditions.
