Construction Scheduler


Job Details

We are looking for a Senior Construction Scheduler in the utilities sector with a focus on risk analysis. This job will be in Los Angeles and the job will be hybrid with expectations of being in the DTLA office 2-3x a week.


There are no relocation funds and you must live in the greater LA area. This is NOT a remote job.


Project Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop comprehensive project schedules from conceptual planning through construction.
  • Create high-level master schedules and detailed CPM schedules, tracking critical activities and project milestones.
  • Utilize Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software for schedule creation and maintenance.

Risk Analysis and Management:

  • Conduct thorough risk analysis to identify potential project risks and their impacts on timelines.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion.
  • Decompose complex schedule problems to identify straightforward, actionable solutions.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, schedule changes, and risk status.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and subcontractors regarding project schedules and potential delays.

Schedule Analysis and Control:

  • Perform schedule and critical path analysis, assessing the impact of design changes and schedule slippages.
  • Develop and implement schedule control procedures and progress reporting mechanisms.
  • Maintain historical data for future planning and forecasting, ensuring consistent and accurate reporting.


Education: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.


Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in large commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction scheduling, with specific experience in critical path management and schedule compression.


Skills:

  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of construction systems, trade sequencing, and critical path method (CPM).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management and construction schedule risk analysis techniques.


Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience working with natural gas pipeline projects is preferred.

Experience with Schedule Risk Analysis (Risk Register, Risk Identification, Risk Workshop, Risk Assessment, Risk Mitigation, Risk Monitoring)

Experience with Schedule Risk Analysis software (Acumen Risk)
