Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Using selection guidelines provided by e-Commerce Department, personal product knowledge, and online research, selects items that are appropriate for online sale.
2. Independently, and in partnership with product-sorting Associates, searches for appropriate items directly from incoming donations.
3. Provides guidance to processing Associates regarding types of items that are suitable for online sales. Reviews items identified by processing Associates as potentially viable for online sale to make final selections of items for transfer to e-Commerce Department.
4. Periodically inspects store shelves to find items not previously identified as potentially appropriate for online sale, retrieves those items for transfer to e-Commerce Department.
5. Provides follow-up and guidance to processing Associates about why items should have been identified as potentially appropriate for online sale.
6. Prepares manifests of all items being shipped to e-Commerce Department using appropriate software.
7. Prepares shipments of items for e-Commerce Department, following guidelines provided by e-Commerce and Transportation Departments.
8. Reviews previous manifests once items are received by e-Commerce Department to determine which items were accepted, which were rejected, and why. Uses this knowledge to further refine product selection criteria.
9. Reviews ShopGoodwill.com, other sites where Goodwill of Greater Washington sells product online, and reports provided by e-Commerce Department to analyze sales results and to ensure that sales were credited to the correct location that provided the product.
10. Interfaces with e-Commerce Department to optimize product selection criteria and to refine processes for selecting products, preparing manifests, and shipping products.
11. Understands and achieves goals for quantity and quality of items selected for online sale.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains a professional appearance adhering to Goodwill uniform standards.
2. Assists management with keeping accurate records related to position.
3. Provides excellent customer service to Goodwills donors and retail customers.
4. Performs general housekeeping duties as needed.
5. Performs other duties as directed.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent experience.
2. At least one year of previous work experience.
3. Knowledge about a wide variety of products in the collectible, antiques, fashion, and consumer goods categories.
4. Excellent customer service skills.
5. Intermediate computer skills.
6. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
7. Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction.
8. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting kneeling, and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
9. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 25 pounds frequently.
10. Ability to work occasional holidays, evenings, and weekends.
11. Valid drivers license and ability to travel to other locations in the Goodwill of Greater Washington service area using own vehicle (Washington, DC, and suburban Maryland and Virginia) as needed for short-term or long-term assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. At least one year of related work experience in an e-Commerce operation, antiques shop, or auction house.
2. Multilingual with fluency in English.
