The Hill Top Energy Center in Carmichaels, PA, is a state-of-the-art combined cycle power generation facility. It features a GE 7HA.02 gas turbine and an Alstom D652 steam turbine, operating together to optimize efficiency and output. The plant is capable of producing up to 621 megawatts of electricity, significantly contributing to the regional power supply.

Opportunity Summary

The Operations Maintenance Technician (OMT) Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the receiving and inventory functions for the plant. Administers the plant's inventory program and identifies the need for improvements and increased capabilities. This position assures that the inventory of parts and equipment is complete and accurate. In addition, the Warehouse Technician will provide support with purchasing activities for the plant.

The scope of responsibility in this position includes the following primary functions:

  • Ensure accurate entry, proofing, and submission of purchase requisition and/or purchase orders based on stock replenishment and management direction. This includes proper product costing, shipping instructions, and resolving any changes or discrepancies.
  • Maintain records of all fixed assets and purchase requisitions and obtain all necessary signatures for approval.
  • Deal directly with vendors to track order status and follow up on deliveries, tracking the progress of shipments and addressing any problems. Receive, store, ship and issue all items, materials, and equipment.
  • Ensure all received items are properly inspected, accounted for, documented, and stored.
  • Maintain and utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for inventory control purposes.
  • Coordinate transfers in and out of the warehouse, tracking all movements.
  • Maintain inventory of all goods, including sorting, counting, and organizing.
  • Effectively communicate information to plant management relative to the condition of the warehouse and availability of material.
  • Develop and prepare work scope packages, competitive bidding practices and coordination of contractors or other vendors.
  • Provide "helping hand" for other O&M Staff as needed.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by plant management.

Working Relationships

The OMT Warehouse Specialist reports to the Maintenance Manager and cooperates with all site personnel relative to the receiving process and inventory control.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.

Fitness for Duty

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.

Work Schedule

This position entails a Monday to Friday work schedule from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Position may also require extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status may periodically be required.

Compensation

Initial starting compensation will range from $25 to $33 per hour.

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school.
  • This position entails the utilization of a forklift for the loading, unloading and movement of various materials and equipment component parts. Must maintain proper certification for operation of a forklift.
  • Must maintain Hazwoper training certification.


Additionally, we are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Prior experience in the power generation industry will be valued and is preferred, but not required.
  • General accounting experience is desirable.
  • Warehouse experience to include shipping, receiving and inventory control.
  • Knowledge and understanding of purchasing procedures.
  • Experience using computerized accounting and inventory control systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, as well as time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
