We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of T&D Superintendent within our Deer Park PVC/KOH Plant located in Deer Park, Texas.

Essential Job Duties:

This position is responsible for leading the OxyChem logistics, transportation and distribution function at Deer Park PVC, directing the activities of Deer Park PVC Caustic and liquid KOH loading, and providing oversight of Deer Parks contract loading workforce. The role is highly integrated with the manufacturing and corporate Supply Chain teams to ensure business goals are accomplished in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.

Maintain as the highest priority the protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products.

Assure compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations including the Department of Transportation (DOT), the US Coast Guard, the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Understand and maintain compliance and participate in audits for industry standards such as ISO, NSF, Kosher, and Finance (GAAP).

Contribute to customer complaint resolution, incident investigations, and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to actively support

HESS and quality programs and objectives.

Logistics Technical Leadership

Manage the movements of pipeline transfers, PVC railcars, KOH trucks, and Caustic trucks and tank cars for Pasadena PVC and Deer Park PVC/KOH.

Coordinate with manufacturing and Supply Chain to assure that raw material and product inventories are in compliance with established minimum-maximum levels and that materials meet specifications.

Develop monthly production schedule by working with Demand Chain Planning to ensure that customer and manufacturing plant needs are being met.

Monitor quality of finished goods and ensure customers receive material that meets their specification requirements.

Manage product inventory and railcar fleet as a priority for critical customers.

Coordinate with corporate Rail Operations and outside services to ensure that railcar inspections and repairs are completed in accordance with all regulations and Oxy requirements, and that railcar inventories remain above acceptable levels.

Develop and implement specific projects to improve manufacturing and logistics cost performance by working with the plant and corporate rail and truck operations.

Understand and enhance existing production, inventory, and shipment management systems.

Assist Finance and plant personnel in completing monthly close of production, utilities, raw material inventory, and finished goods inventory.

Participate in the annual planning process for production and raw materials and update SAP with plan inputs.

Manage the Production and Logistics SAP functions for PVC, KOH and Caustic.

Plant Performance Leadership

Plan and direct the activities of the Deer Park Caustic and KOH Terminal in a manner that achieves business goals in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.

Ensure consistency of terminal operations, application of policies/procedures, and accountability for employees working in the area.

Monitor reliability and performance of Deer Park Caustic and KOH Terminal equipment.

Manage reliability priorities and maintenance backlogs for the Caustic terminal. Communicate maintenance needs through the established routine maintenance process and work in conjunction with Maintenance to ensure that the backlog is managed, planned, and scheduled properly.

Provide outage planning and support for planned shutdowns. Identify outage timing and scope. Help develop the operations plan for the outage and coordinate with Maintenance on the maintenance plan and cost.

Partner with the Capital group and Technical department to identify and prioritize projects, assist with development of project scope, support project approval, and optimize scheduling of improvement projects in the areas of responsibility.

Personnel/Department Leadership

Supervise multi-site team of Traffic Coordinators who are responsible for managing raw material inventory, finished goods inventory, and shipping logistics.

Supervise the Day Head Operator responsible for supporting the Deer Park Caustic and KOH terminal operation.

Provide Oxy oversight of Deer Parks contract loading workforce.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships on the functional level with OCC Corporate Transportation and Distribution, Demand Chain Planning, Business, Customer Relations and Safety Organizations.

Provide effective oral and written communication, both within and external to the PVC manufacturing plants.

Show initiative, demonstrate leadership, coach others and utilize skills, knowledge, and experience to maximize individual, team and business performance.

Develop department personnel, direct work assignments, and evaluate and manage employee performance in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**

* High school diploma or G.E.D. required; bachelors degree in chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.

* 2 years of experience in a chemical plant environment with 5+ years preferred.

* Must be able to communicate effectively with outside vendors and customers.

* Must be able to respond to off-hour emergencies.

* High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and good working knowledge of SAP.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to read, write and speak in English.

* Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.

* Ability to work weekends, holidays, monthly close schedule, and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.

* Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
