Job Description: The Product Metallurgist will ensure the quality and performance of our steel products, collaborating with production, quality assurance, and R&D to optimize metallurgical processes and improve product quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize metallurgical processes.
  • Conduct metallurgical testing and analysis to meet standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with production to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze failure modes and develop corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to production and quality teams.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Interact with customers and suppliers regarding technical issues and product requirements.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Experience in the steel manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in quality improvement and process optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency in metallurgical testing and analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in customer and supplier interactions.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Professional certification in metallurgy or materials science.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with CAD and CAM software.
