Plant Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant to ensure efficiency, productivity, and safety in the manufacturing of corrugated packaging products. This includes managing production schedules, quality control, maintenance, logistics, and personnel management. The Plant Manager will implement strategies to optimize processes, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure the timely fulfillment of customer orders. Reporting directly to the President of the organization, an individual in this position is critical to their success.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

• Oversee all stages of production to ensure that products meet specifications and quality standards.
• Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demands and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure productivity and efficiency.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety, conduct regular safety meetings, and enforce safety policies.

Personnel Management:

• Recruit, train, and manage plant staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and develop staff through ongoing training and development opportunities.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement among staff.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in plant management, preferably in the corrugated packaging industry.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
