POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans and prepares all packaging and labels to arrive per planned production needs. Utilizing the SAP and planning team scheduling tools, reports, and information available to ensure that all orders and/or order modifications are efficiently scheduled and processed to effectively meet customer expectations.

Support development and accuracy of all SAP data, BOMs, routings, etc. Support and help ensure accuracy of production reporting, and inventory control. Insure we maintain adequate inventory of all packaging and labels.

Communicates, in a professional manner, with the manufacturing departments, various support functions, and Customer Service on the status of production schedules and/or orders so that, if required, schedule alterations can be made timely and efficiently to meet customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Placing and maintaining of all orders and documentation related to the packaging and label purchasing so that records are complete and up to date.
  • Maintaining accurate and adequate inventory levels of labels and packaging for manufacturing and customer demands.
  • Communicating with Production on any supply issues that will create service issues within production.
  • Perform independent schedule risk assessments and mitigation planning, facilitate the resolution of resource constraints and other existing or potential schedule interruptions.
  • Align firm and forecasted requirements with manufacturing capabilities, capacity and suppliers.
  • Work with sales forecasts and backlog to derive an effective plan to achieve budgeted, on-time shipments while reducing lead-time to the customer.
  • Establish and implement effective strategies to manage inventory levels.
  • Obtain an intimate understanding of the production process and how it relates to efficient scheduling (appropriate MOQ's, die requirements for production campaigns, proper changeover sequencing, etc.).
  • Responsible for working with Vendors, setting up Vendors, and purchasing within Procurement guidelines.
  • Maintaining accurate and adequate inventory levels of packaging for manufacturing and customer demands.
  • Maintaining procurement, inventory, distribution, employee uniforms and miscellaneous shipping supplies, office supplies, janitorial supplies as well as supplies for faxes and copiers.
  • Responsible for the order/reorder/release of all company forms and related printed material.
  • Share in laboratory duties to include testing products, entering results in SAP, labeling samples, and cleaning.
  • Maintain system for retention of company records according to established standard.
  • Process outgoing mail, distribute incoming mail and prepare UPS shipments.
  • Will help with other tasks as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years previous experience
  • SAP Experience (2+ years preferred)


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 years working in a manufacturing environment with hands on responsibility in Materials Management, Production Control, Capacity Planning, MRP, Purchasing, and Scheduling related functions.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques in production and planning desired.
  • Prior scheduling experience and working knowledge in a manufacturing environment and demand management techniques is required.
  • Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
  • SAP experience required, well versed in the use of MRP/ERP systems (MM/PP modules).
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong self-starter and self-motivator. Action oriented - willing to extend beyond job duties as needed to improve the business.
