Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Controller to join its accounting andfinance team. The Controllerleads ateam that offers a wide variety of financial reporting, operational accounting, procurementand travel services to the organization. This role has the opportunity to participate in the development of optimum solutions for business challenges in a collaborative environment, as well as set strategic direction for the company. This position will be hybrid and located in Pennsylvania.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high performing team in support of current andfuture talent needs within the accounting function.
- Uphold GAAP and SAP based accounting polices and procedures.
- Maintain the internal control environment byensuringcompliance with key internal control procedures.
- Produce complete, accurateand timely GAAP and SAP based financial statements, including consolidations and financial based regulatory compliance reports.
- Provide various financial analysis in support of current or planned business objectives and strategies, as needed.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business
- 10+ years of directly related experience
- Leadership experience within theproperty andcasualty insurance space
- Working knowledge of reinsurance contracts and their accounting implications, as well asfederal income taxation of property andcasualty insurers
- Advanced knowledge of technology used by insurer businesses and financial systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, practicesand standards
