As part of their continued growth, they have engaged Quotacom exclusively to recruit a highly skilled, solutions-orientated IT Systems Engineer, to join their facility in Aurora, IL.
As an IT Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, upgrading, and maintaining their IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless and efficient operations. You will handle everything from system and network management to security oversight and user support
Responsibilities:
- Manage, upgrade and maintain software, hardware, and network infrastructure, particularly within Active Directory/Window Server Environments.
- Administer and troubleshoot a Cisco switched environment, including VLANs and network segmentation..
- Oversee system backups, ensuring data integrity, availability, and reliable recovery processes.
- Manage and optimize cloud environments, particularly our 365, Active Directory and Azure environment.
- Act as the primary liaison with external vendors and support services to resolve escalated issues promptly.
- Provide comprehensive technical support and training to users to ensure secure, effective system use.
- Define, and ensure compliance with, relevant policies and regulations.
- Develop and utilize automation scripts using languages like PowerShell and Python to streamline processes.
- Deliver exceptional customer service-oriented desktop support.
Required experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration with a focus on Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking infrastructure.
- Proven ability to redesign and optimize IT infrastructure.
- Expertise in Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
- Proficiency in managing Cisco networking equipment, VLAN configuration, and OSI layers 1-4.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, LAN/WAN configurations, and related software.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
