The Department of Central Transport at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Hospital Attendant 1 (Evenings). The successful candidate will: Be responsible for transporting patients safely and efficiently to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchairs, stretchers or beds as requested for their diagnostic procedures and upon patients discharge. Transport deceased patients to the morgue. Assist nursing personnel with transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as needed. Transport laboratory specimens by picking up specimens and delivering them to specified laboratory in facility and off campus. Respond promptly to stat calls Pick-up and deliver patient related items to various nursing units within the hospital Communicate to nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians or receptionist of patient arrival and departure.
