The Bodacious Shops Job Type Part-time Description The Events Chef is responsible for planning collaboration and execution of cooking classes and special events in a beautiful open kitchen within a historic downtown event venue.

The ideal candidate is flexible, creative, and engaging, with a demonstrated passion for food, excellent communication skills and an energetic, charismatic personality. The position offers the opportunity to work with a creative team to design menus, create cooking class concepts, lead the food ordering and preparation process, execute beautiful events and showcase their skills as they teach cooking classes in the downtown areas only stadium kitchen.

The work schedule may include events held during the day, in the evening, during the week, on weekends and holidays.

**Essential Functions**

1. Organize and maintain cleanliness of events kitchen

3. Maintain cost of goods

4. Collaborate with Events Manager and team to create event and cooking class concepts

5. Order food, receive deliveries and prep as outlined in each event menu

6. Execute classes and events in the open kitchen in an energetic, engaging manner

7. Answer questions about our food, beverages, local sources, and other services

8. Upsell products used in menus and sold in shops i.e. olive oils, kitchen tools, etc.

9. Ensure guests are satisfied with the beverage, food, and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests and deliver excellent customer service

10. Be flexible to work both AM and PM shifts

11. Portion, arrange, plate and garnish food

12. Adhere to dress code, standards of behavior and company policies, procedures and culture

13. Performs all other duties as requested or directed

Requirements

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

1. Always maintain professional attitude and appearance

2. Well-organized and detail-oriented with all guest services

3. Required to stand, walk, and lift items (up to 25 lbs.) on a regular basis

4. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed

5. Be able to work weekends, holidays, and special events unless approved by manager

6. Excellent communication skills

7. Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions

8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

9. Ability to build relationships with customers

**Education and Experience**

High school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**

This is a part-time position. Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs.

**Physical Demands**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position include the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 25 pounds, and the use of standard kitchen equipment.
