Summary:
The CAD Draftsman operates AutoCAD computer system, including creating, updating and modifying drawings, and performs manual drafting.
Essential Functions:
- Creates AutoCAD drawings for projects.
- Creates and modifies Architectural details for upcoming projects.
- Scans/Copies project drawings as needed.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation pertinent to individual projects.
- Communicates with external and internal contacts in person and on telephone, answers questions and directs to appropriate individual when necessary.
- Works closely with architects contractors and independent reps.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Competencies:- Proficient with Architectural Drawings, AutoCAD software.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to manage several projects at one time.
- Must have computer literacy with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Windows.
Required Education and Experience:- Associate's degree or completion of a technical trade school in AutoCAD, drafting or related field.
- At least one-two years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Work Environment:- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands:- This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
- This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:- This is a full-time position.
- Entry Level Non-exempt.
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM - Day shift.
- Hours may be flexible.
