Technical Support Representative (Forklift Attachment Products) Career Opportunity!

This 80-year-old company is a global leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of material handling equipment and other related technologies. We are looking for a Technical Support Representative to provide expert-level technical assistance and service to our customers seeking information and support for a wide range of forklift attachment products. In this position, you will interact regularly with internal employees on all levels, as well as external dealers and end-users.
What Will You Be Doing?

  • Respond to technical support inquiries, provide technical assistance with our forklift attachments over the phone.
  • Assist various dealers with product related troubleshooting questions.
  • Diagnose hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic malfunctions and assist with the required solutions.
  • Assess issues objectively and make rational decisions concerning products, quality, and customer relations. Prioritize customer satisfaction while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in team functions and contribute technical opinions/expertise where required.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase job efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to travel where required on a scheduled and non-scheduled basis.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work might be necessary.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
What Do You Need To Be Successful?
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in technical support, troubleshooting, or field service within the forklift industry.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with hydraulic or mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems/issues over the phone and seek additional information necessary to resolve issues.
  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, or electronic systems.
  • Strong mechanical & electrical aptitude.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Self-motivator.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Windows and MS Office.
  • Ability to work with basic hand tools.
  • Ability to effectively address customer inquiries and concerns in face-to-face interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively participate and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to drive a lift truck desired-if needed.
This is a full-time, onsite, Direct Hire position in Springfield, Ohio.
Salary is between $70,00 and $83,000 per year.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
