Summary :
The Activity Assistant prepares and leads recreational, social, cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual programs. Completes residents' leisure assessments and collaborates with interdisciplinary team to create a comprehensive care plan.

Job Description:

Schedule: Day shift coming in at 8am with self-scheduling. You would work every 3rd weekend which those hours are from 9am to 4pm.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Leads groups, events, and activities throughout the community to increase psychosocial wellbeing and customer satisfaction.

2. Completes leisure assessments on new patients or residents to comply with state regulations and to make sure resident needs are met.

3. Assists with the development and implementation of a plan of care based on leisure needs and documents appropriately to meet state and federal regulations.

4. Assists in the planning and implementation of the monthly activity calendar to ensure residents are notified of upcoming activities and events.

5. Schedules entertainment and local groups that will enhance the customer's experience.

6. Collaborates with multiple disciplines to ensure patient/resident needs are being met.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance.
  • Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Normally works in climate controlled office environment
  • Equal sitting and standing with movement throughout campus
  • Use of computers throughout the work day
  • Standing for long periods throughout day
  • Occasional outdoor activities
