Pharmacy Technician (Home Infusion) - 40 hrs/wk - Day Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for, but not limited to, preparing pharmacy orders including filling and sterile compounding pursuant to a valid physician prescription. Assists pharmacist with communication, clinical monitoring, documentation, and oversight of patient care coordination. Assist in the stocking and storage of Inventory as well as assisting in the maintenance of environmental controls and collection of compliance data. May require a weekend/holiday on-call component based on operating needs of Henry Ford Home Infusion. Routinely interacts and communicates with the public.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Requires high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Minimum of six (6) months of hospital or home infusion pharmacy experience with emphasis on compounding/aseptic technique required, and good working knowledge of compounding sterile products according to USP 797 standards. Knowledge of IV access devices and required ancillary supplies preferred. Advanced computer knowledge preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required.
