Description

Seeking a talented Azure Data Solutions Architect to support one or more dynamic, long-term federal government enterprise data programs for our client. The ideal candidate will lead the architecture and implementation of cloud and on-prem data solutions. Candidates having experience working with the Microsoft Fabric platform will be prioritized. This will be a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with federal client stakeholders and technical staff to ensure data architecture approaches and implementation maximize the value, accessibility, and security of client data both private and published.
  • Design and develop enterprise-wide database solutions utilizing Azure cloud technologies to meet a diverse set of federal analytics, reporting and operating requirements (e.g. Human Capital).
  • Design and aid in the development of a Human Resources Information System Data Lake providing expert guidance on the structure and format of each layer to take disparate sources system data through a pipeline to by ingested by visualization reports which provide analytical insights and historical information.
  • Design and aid in the implementation of scalable cloud microservices database migrations strategy.
  • Design and aid in the development of statistical models and predictive analytics.
  • Design and aid in the development of data management and governance procedures.
  • Understand technical issues in using analytical tools and assess tools risks and opportunities to an organization.
  • Serve as a client-facing solutions presenter in the introduction and adoption of microservices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in an on-prem and cloud hybrid platform; research, analyze, recommend and select technical approaches for solving exciting, complex development and integration challenges.
  • Implement and maintain data in on-prem and cloud environments, maintain efficiency, ensure high availability, troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and conduct performance tuning.
  • Provide technical expertise and hands-on support in the consolidation and migration of databases and datastores to new platforms.
  • Act as technical lead to engage client stakeholders to elicit and refine requirements of HRIS system, providing technical expertise of how the system should be designed and developed to satisfy client needs.
  • Lead iterative development and technical working sessions to ensure project development progresses as planned and all issues are identified and resolved.
  • Mentor and develop more junior staff through teaching, empowering, and influencing technical and consulting skills.
Requirements

MUST HAVES:
  • US Citizen with ability to secure a US Federal Public Trust Clearance
  • Experience with Federal Human Resources Information System Data Lake Systems
  • Experience using Fabric
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent area.
  • 8+ years of data engineering and/or data warehousing experience
  • Relevant Azure certifications, e.g., Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect.
  • 5+ years of experience migrating structured and unstructured data to data lakes and data warehouses.
  • 5+ years of experience provisioning, implementing, and maintaining data lakes.
  • 3+ years of experience with major data visualization platforms, e.g. PowerBI, Tableau.
  • 3+ years of experience using scripting languages to automate tasks in Azure, e.g., PowerShell, or Python
  • 4+ years of deep experience building off-prem data solutions (Azure or equivalent cloud using cloud database technologies for data ingestion, data storage, real-time processing, and analytics)
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure monitoring and logging solutions, e.g., Azure Log Analytics and Azure Monitor and Application Insights
  • Proficient at creating training materials and detailed technical documentation.
  • Experience working within Agile methodology and development, DevOps and using version control platforms e.g., GitHub)
  • Have domain knowledge of standard data methodologies (DMBOK, NIST etc).
  • Team player and the ability to work effectively within a group as well as self-motivated with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills
