Position: Business Applications Analyst
Location: Akron, Ohio (5 days/week onsite)
Shifts/Schedule: 8am-5pm
Pay Rate: $35-45/hr
Must Haves:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of professional related IT experience
- Licensing and vendor management for Engineering and Manufacturing applications
- ServiceNow ticketing system experience
- Experience with help desk and general user issues with applications support
- Experience working with PowerApps or PowerBI
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge in server support (Win Server 2008-2019) and Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11, and Microsoft Office 365
- Experience in configuration and/or support of PLM systems such as: Smarteam, Enovia, Solidworks PDM, Agile, or Mastercontrol
- Experience in implementation/support of Engineering Enterprise solutions such as: Doors, Jira, Serena Dimensions, Rational Team Concert, Jama
- Experience with ERP systems like SAP
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, like Azure DevOps
- Led small projects and delivered results
- Basic knowledge in SCCM and Active Directory management
- SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle database experience, a plus
- Experience with VB, PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting experience
Day-To-Day:
Insight Global is seeking a Business Applications Analyst for one of our largest clients in Akron, OH. They will be responsible for supporting day to day operations and maintenance of around 100 engineering & manufacturing applications. This includes upgrading versions of the tool and consolidating applications and optimizing the licensing for cost reduction. This person will be supporting all North American applications and working closely with the UK sites. The work itself will be allocated around 70% day-to-day end user application support and 30% license management/vendor management.
Duties include:
- Address issues with engineering & manufacturing applications submitted via Service-Now ticketing system.
- Support and perform system/application upgrades of engineering software and licenses and vendor management.
- Work with other business analysts, and product team members on projects related to engineering & manufacturing applications and implementations.
- Ensure highly standardized deployment and maintenance of servers, storage, databases and server applications
- Assist in the long term migration to standard engineering & manufacturing tools
- Assist with requests from the operation services team, business analysts, and project team members on small issues.
- Get involved in SOX and CMMC compliance audits and actions
- Execute standard maintenance and performance tuning, as well as unplanned remediation
- Perform periodic security audits as required by IT standards
- Coordinate with infrastructure to assure that application servers and data are being backed up per the agreed upon backup schedule insuring data management integrity and following company standard procedures. Have an understanding of what the backup solutions are and strategies in use for data management (archival and recovery), servers (virtual and physical), databases, server applications
- Develop and execute test procedures as required to ensure optimum system performance, reliability, availability, security and operational stability
- Ability to work after hours and support on-call schedule
