**Student Support Specialist**

Columbus, MS **Type:** Full-Time **Posted:** 10/22/2021 **Job Summary:**The Student Support Specialist coordinates disability and testing services, manages data, assists in budget management and provides managerial and administrative support. **Essential Duties:**

* Processes standardized test registrations

* Administers standardized tests

* Develops accommodations plans for students with disabilities

* Supports student accommodations (i.e., supervises extended testing sessions)

* Provides administrative support to the director

* Prepares correspondence and mass mailings

* Assists in coordinating seminars and classes for the SSC (Including Summer Dev. Program)

* Maintains office files, supplies, equipment, and inventory records

* Tracks student matriculation

* Hires, trains, supervises and places student tutors

* Uses Banner to access and edit student records

* Maintains financial records and prepares purchase requisitions

* Maintains records of retention efforts with probation/suspension students and first-year students with absences and low first semester GPAs

* Remains current with regulations with policy and practice related to student accommodations

* Serves as liaison with faculty and staff regarding student accommodations

* Assists in budgetary management

* Participates in staff meetings and provides updates as requested

* Pursues professional growth activities

* Coordinates website content with webmaster

* Other reasonable duties as assigned

**Minimum Qualifications:** Education: Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred; seasoned professional knowledge equivalent to a masters degree required.

Experience:

* One year of full-time experience at an institution of higher education

* One to three years of experience of test administration, accommodations, data management

* Must have knowledge of ADA regulations

* Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
