About this Position:
The purpose and function of the Procurement Principal Specialist is to act as the lead Purchasing PL (BPL) and Development Team member responsible for establishing model-level sourcing recommendations, managing overall model purchase and investments costs, and supporting the on-time development of assigned Accessory models and products to achieve overall cost and launch timing objectives.

Responsibilities include:
Accessory project team member representing then Purchasing Dept. as a project lead (BPL) in early development phases (initial part concept through maker layout selection). The BPL plays a critical role in setting potential RFQ suppliers, evaluating planning cost, setting realistic cost targets based on spec and current market conditions, and proposing maker layout to executive management.
Accessory project team member representing the Purchasing Dept. as a project lead (BPL) after maker layout selection through EQ0 (first off tool build event). The BPL reviews buyer cost analysis slides to ensure spec changes are accurate, and confirms supplier development schedules are received, reviewed, and updated in SharePoint tracking timely. Once confirmed, the BPL shares updated cost and development information with project team to ensure team is on track to meet supplier milestones. The BPL then reports cost and schedule updates to executive management at DBQ and SED evaluations. After coordinating Die Go, the BPL ensures buyers are checking in with suppliers to confirm tooling is on schedule and EQ0 parts will be delivered on time.
Accessory project team member representing the Purchasing Dept. as a project lead (BPL) after EQ0 through In Warehouse Date (first mass production shipment). The BPL tracks and facilities development team/management approval for all remaining GO's (texture go, material go, component go, paint go). They also have responsibility for confirming final cost setup and reporting final cost variances from last SED report to executive management at DBQ and SED E2 evaluations. The BPL will also support AHM supply team reviewing development schedules vs P34 ramp up production plans, attending supplier meetings, and negotiating changes to ensure 100% on time delivery.
Evaluating current procurement systems and establishing new and improved procurement processes for increased efficiencies, accuracy, and cost results.
Training of PICs in advanced cost analysis techniques.
Training of BPLs in Project Lead execution and Model analysis.

Who we are seeking:

Required Experience: 8-10 years work experience in project management, cost analysis, auto accessory product development, or manufacturing.Supervisory and/or cost leader experience preferred.
Required Education: Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business, Quantitative Analysis, or Engineering. Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred.

Other job-specific skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point required.
Effective presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of sourcing contracts.
Able to negotiate supplier cost and schedule.

Additional Position Factors:
Mainly office work environment with some shop environment when reviewing vehicles.
Some travel is required to support face-to-face meetings with Suppliers.
Hybrid work is available.
Overtime may be required during peak times during the development cycle
