Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Monitor Technician Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: Ongoing 40 hours per week Employment Type: Staff Description Provides indirect care in the department setting. Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac screen or telemetry monitors. Meets communication needs of the department. Prepares and compiles records in the department. Maintains regulatory body requirements, policies and procedures and participates in performance improvement activities. Communicates information about dysrhythmias to the charge nurse and primary care nurse. Maintains logbooks in the department. Imports rhythm strips at the specified times. Basic EKG Training. Qualifications Minimum Education High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred Required Skills Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Handle with Care certification are both required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
