Our fast-growing client, a dynamic company at the forefront of innovation, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join their Finance team as a Marketing Finance Liaison. This crucial role will serve as the primary point of contact between the Marketing, Billing, and Accounting teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination. The ideal candidate will perform detailed financial analysis on marketing margins, handle necessary journal entries, and work closely with the billing team to ensure accurate invoicing for marketing-related charges. This is an essential position that demands strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Liaison Role:

  • Act as the primary contact for the Marketing team on all finance-related matters.
  • Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between the Marketing, Billing, and Accounting teams.
  • Offer financial insights and recommendations to support marketing strategies and initiatives.

Journal Entries and Reconciliation:

  • Perform precise and timely journal entries related to marketing activities.
  • Reconcile marketing expense accounts to ensure alignment with the general ledger.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of marketing margins, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards to Marketing and Finance leadership.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing spend against budget and forecast, providing actionable insights.

Billing Coordination:

  • Work with the Billing team to ensure accurate invoicing of customers for marketing-related charges.
  • Review and verify billing data, resolving discrepancies and ensuring compliance with contracts.
  • Support the development and implementation of billing processes and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation of financial processes related to marketing.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably within a marketing or advertising environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of billing processes and experience with billing systems is preferred.
