The Health Policy Research Center at the Mongan Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a full-time paid Clinical Research Coordinator to support the research activities of investigators within the Health Policy Research Center.

Reporting to Vicki Fung, PhD, and Alex McDowell, PhD the Clinical Research Coordinator will play a key role in conducting health policy research that examines coverage and access to care for populations that experience health disparities, including individuals of disadvantaged socioeconomic status, racial and ethnic minority populations, and LGBTQ populations. Our studies examine the impact of health policies - with a focus on Medicaid and Medicare policy - on access to and use of care, quality, outcomes, spending, and disparities. Working in collaboration with a team of researchers, clinicians, economists, and biostatisticians, the Clinical Research Coordinator's responsibilities could include the following:

* Conducting literature reviews

* Completing IRB applications

* Obtaining and combining novel data sources

* Extracting, cleaning, and analyzing large and complex datasets (e.g., medical claims, survey, geographic or provider data)

* Using appropriate data summary and visualization tools to summarize findings

* Assisting with disseminating findings through presentations and manuscripts

* Assisting with the execution of data use agreements

* Qualitative analysis of interview data

* Gathering background information on specific policy changes, such as state Medicaid policies

* Providing coordination support for federal, multi-site projects and team meetings

* Managing relationships with external public and private data owners

* Providing general administrative support to all project members

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and have completed coursework in statistics, mathematics, health policy, economics, or a related field. They must have excellent quantitative, analytic, and organizational skills, the ability to work both independently and in a team setting, and have proficient knowledge of US health policy, especially focused on insurance policy, the Affordable Care Act, and health disparities. Prior experience with statistical programs (e.g., Stata, SAS, R), database management, and the research process is preferred. Our research group is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
