We are looking for a motivated registered nurse to join our busy pain management practice to work in our ambulatory surgery center.

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse at the Ambulatory Surgery Center for Pain Management plays a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality patient care during various pain management procedures. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the RN provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgeries, injections, and other interventional procedures. The nurse ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients while adhering to established protocols and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Assessment:

    • Conduct pre-operative assessments, reviewing medical histories, allergies, and current medications.
    • Assess patients' physical and emotional status to create an individualized care plan.
    • Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and other relevant parameters before, during, and after procedures.
  2. Intraoperative Care:

    • Assist physician during certain pain management procedures.
    • Monitor patients' responses to interventions, ensuring their safety and comfort.
    • Maintain a sterile environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  3. Postoperative Care:

    • Assess and manage pain levels, providing appropriate pain relief interventions.
    • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely discharge and post-operative follow-up.
  4. Patient Education:

    • Educate patients and their families about the planned procedures, expected outcomes, and post-operative care instructions.
    • Address patients' concerns and questions regarding their procedures and recovery.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
    • Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, providing concise and relevant updates on patients' conditions.
    • Complete required documentation for regulatory compliance and billing purposes.
  6. Quality Improvement:

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing changes to enhance patient care and safety.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in pain management and ambulatory surgery nursing practices.
  7. Compliance and Safety:

    • Adhere to all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures related to nursing practice and patient care.
    • Ensure the proper functioning and calibration of medical equipment.
    • Promote a culture of safety, reporting any incidents or potential risks promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing (BSN/ASN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active state RN license and CPR certification.
  • Prior experience in perioperative or ambulatory care settings, preferably in pain management.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused approach to nursing care.
