Job Summary:


GalaxyCon is a festival of fandom that celebrates comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more. GalaxyCon is more than a comic-con, it s a galaxy of fun!


This role is pivotal in expanding our brand s reach and engagement within the pop culture community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for comic cons and all facets of pop culture, coupled with a talent for forging strong partnerships and a knack for event marketing.


This position can be hybrid, but must be located near Fort Lauderdale, FL.


Key Responsibilities:


Day-To-Day Responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive outreach to live events within Comic Con, Medieval Faire, LGBTQ, and all Pop Culture-related industries across all GalaxyCon markets and surrounding areas.
  • Engage with potential retail partners, including comic book stores, movie theaters, barcades, and fan groups, to promote GalaxyCon s presence and offerings.
  • Perform continuous research to identify and secure potential partnerships that align with GalaxyCon s brand and objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and posting of job openings for Brand Ambassadors in preparation for on-site activations.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including sorting, vetting, and hiring of Brand Ambassadors, ensuring a team of enthusiastic and effective representatives.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to appropriate departments through emails, shared documents, and bi-weekly meetings to ensure alignment and coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing/Graphics Department to conceptualize and implement innovative booth designs that effectively represent our brand and attract potential clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.


On-Site Responsibilities

  • Travel to various event locations to manage the setup, operation, and teardown of the GalaxyCon booth throughout the event s duration.
  • Maintain all GalaxyCon branded materials, including iPads used for prizing and email database collection, ensuring they are in excellent condition and ready for use.
  • Engage with vendors and exhibitors to promote GalaxyCon services and events, effectively selling the value of our brand.
  • Interact with event attendees for promotional activities, volunteer recruitment, and to enhance GalaxyCon s community engagement.
  • Register attendees for contests and gather contact information to grow the GalaxyCon email database, fostering long-term relationships with our audience.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in field marketing, event coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to network effectively.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required by event schedules.
  • A self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more
  • A willingness and ability to travel to GalaxyCon events, which may require working on weekends and holidays
