Job Summary:
The Basic Companion at Senior Helpers - Fairfax will be responsible for providing companionship and basic support to senior clients in the Fairfax area. This individual will play a crucial role in improving the overall well-being and quality of life for our elderly clients. The Basic Companion will work full-time, on a salary basis, in the healthcare/medical industry. Must have computer knowledge.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive salary of $15 to $17 per hour, paid biweekly
Responsibilities:
-Provide transportation to clients as needed
- Provide companionship and emotional support to senior clients
- Engage in activities and hobbies with the clients to promote mental stimulation
- Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and dishwashing
- Accompany clients to appointments or activities as needed
- Assist with basic meal preparation and feeding, as needed
- Help with medication reminders and monitoring of daily medications
- Report any changes or concerns regarding clients' health or well-being to the appropriate individual
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities and tasks completed
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, coworkers, and supervisors
- Uphold the values and mission of Senior Helpers - Fairfax in all interactions and responsibilities
Requirements:
-MUST have computer knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with senior or elderly clients preferred
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Basic knowledge of home health care practices and techniques
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
