Financial Service Processor (Remote)

(Remote) Must be US Based

$15.62 hr (Weekly pay + Benefits)

4-6 month contract (Excellent potential for extension or permanent)

Full-time: M-F (Able to start 6am PST for the first 4 weeks of training)

Hours after training: M-F and can work your own time zone; anytime between the hours 5am PST thru 6pm PST)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Services Processor reports to the Financial Services Manager. The Financial Services Processor analyzes students' financial aid documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness, awards the appropriate funding to students, ensures the funding is disbursed accurately, ensures the student's funding was appropriate when they withdraw/graduate and ensures excess funds are accurately processed to the student. This role will be working with student docs and other information to determine their FA eligibility and potentially award them their PELL, Loans, and/or other aid. The role is not student facing but working behind the scenes on files.

Job Responsibilities:
Review/Approve student documents based on standard operating procedures.
Award funding to students based on standard operating procedures.
Review disbursement eligibility.
Calculate excess funding to be sent to a student.
Calculate earned/unearned aid and request necessary refunds.
Follow all company policies and procedures
Maintain a working knowledge of Federal, State and Institutional Policies governing Title IV student aid programs.
Review the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) to determine current student eligibility.
Review the Common Originations and Disbursement System (COD) to determine current student eligibility
All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
3+yr of experience in Financial industry, reviewing and working with and processing files or similar processing
Background in Banking, Mortgage/Loan Officer, Underwriter, Financial aid, or similar roles processing information
Must be accustomed to attending lengthy work training; experienced with taking good notes and enjoy learning something new
Requires critical thinking, process orientated and problem-solving. Experience to dig deeper, ask the right questions and use resources to come up with solutions.
Experience and comfortable with handling daily repetitive tasks
Must be Self-disciplined, able to self-motivate and experience working independently in a remote role. Requires home office, reliable internet and with limited distractions
Experience working with files and meeting daily task completion deadlines
Experience to work quickly and meet daily goals (Requires processing 21 files daily after training)
Committed to not miss paid training (Training requires daily attendance). Able to attend 4 weeks of work training without time off. Training schedule is a set start times of 6am PST.

After training, can work own time zone' between the hours of 5am PST - 6pm PST)
Must be comfortable attending meetings and training via zoom and with your camera on.
Requires being adaptable, coachable, eager to learn and can deal well with change to policy or procedures
Requires experience with attention to detail type of work entering information accurately
Requires basic math skills and able to do simple calculations
Experience or interested in educational setting within Financial Aid
Interest in learning federal financial aid programs and regulations
