SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible
education to more than 4,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to
adult learners. The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of
science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and
noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area
in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks,
Warsaw, Whiteman Air Force Base, Jefferson City and online.

Position Purpose: We are looking for qualified candidates to teach various classes at
our campus in Jefferson City at Lincoln University during the FALL 2024 semester (midAugust to mid-December). Instructors only needed for the following classes for this
semester: Art Appreciation, Public Speaking, English Composition I and Foundations of
English II, Precalculus Algebra and Living Religions. For this semester, all classes will
be taught over the 16 week semester on campus between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00
p.m. No applications are being sought for extended teaching at this time.

Essential Job Functions:
Instruct assigned courses using predetermined textbooks and curriculum
Utilize technology (including Canvas)
Gradebook/feedback up-to-date within 1 week in Canvas
Timely response to student emails within 24 hours
Meet attendance and final grade entry deadlines
ILO/data reporting to Lead Instructor/Division as requested
Maintain communication with Lead Instructor and Division Chair
Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college.

Education/Experience:
Master's degree in area seeking to teach required or related Master's degree
with minimum of 18 graduate hours in specialty area
Prior teaching experience at the college level and experience with computer
mediated instruction preferred.

Skills:
Possess a working knowledge of computers as a medium to manage and
improve instruction.
Demonstrate evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate student centeredness. Be able to interact with a broad range of
people with diverse backgrounds both on and off campus, in a positive manner.
Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community
college.
A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively
Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
Ability to interact verbally in person, over the telephone, and via written and
electronic media.
Ability to move about campus and other locations.
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
