Duties and Responsibilities
* Anticipate needs and proactively bring together appropriate people and resources to support the Legal Manager & Paralegal in addressing issues.
* Handle confidential information pertaining to company operations and legal issues.
* Format, draft, input, and edit correspondence, reports, and legal documents.
* Maintain legal databases, including, but not limited to CSC, Contract Insight, Salesforce, Sharepoint, Esker, RiskPartner, UPS, and the processing of expenses
* Process and maintain executed contracts and spreadsheet of outside counsel legal invoices.
* Handle and file annual reports for various business entities.
* Maintain departmental files.
* Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; prepare background documents as necessary.
* Receive and screen communications to Legal Manager & Paralegal, including telephone calls, mail and emails; Use independent judgment to prioritize, channel and facilitate communication.
* Independently respond to letters and general correspondence of a routine nature.
* Attend and arrange meetings; take minutes as necessary.
* Review and process legal invoices for payment.
* Create templates for various legal documents (contracts, letters, and others).
* Maintain and keep current all Certificates of Insurance for franchise locations.
* Maintain company minute books.
* Maintain intellectual property portfolio filing system.
* Assist the Legal Department with litigation matters and Class Action matters.
* Handle Garnishment Service of Process and Franchise Suit Service of Process. Send indemnification notification to Franchisees.
* Handle the processing and coding of all departmental expenses for the Legal Department.
* Assist in drafting policies and procedures.
* Maintain manuals for Legal and Compliance.
* Communicate with senior management, internal and external personnel and departments and franchise Red Roof property owners.

Qualifications
* Associate's degree or equivalent work experience required.
* 3-5 years of legal experience preferred
* Must have exceptional customer service,verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be fluent in proper English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; Knowledge of business correspondence formatting is strongly preferred.
* Basic mathematical computations, accounting and record-keeping skills are strongly preferred.
* Proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required.
* Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures, including the use of standard office equipment required.
* Must be able to perform technical, specialized, complex, and difficult office work requiring the use of independent judgment.
