You will have the opportunity to perform an assortment of manual and semi-skilled tasks that meet program requirements of Virginias registered Apprenticeship Program, including trades of: Mechatronics Technician and Tool & Die Maker. During the course of the program, the Apprentice will: Gain knowledge of the operating procedures in the assigned department. Receive training and instruction on machine operation, quality and production standards, and departmental processes, procedures and goals. Participate in actual departmental operations to the extent that training allows and is feasible. Learn blueprint reading and specifications, using various computer programs, mechanical activities and using mathematical concepts (using metrics) during the course of the department assignment.
