$180,000 - $200,000 + bonus + equity
THE COMPANY
This company is an innovative biomechanics startup that is pushing safety measures in athletics here in the US. They are building out a brand new function to push the boundaries of their applications through machine learning. This person requires a technical leader to lead projects and strategize for team growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build machine learning models to identify new areas of player safety and injury prevention
- Lead the data science technical strategy
- Partner with commercial and research departments across the organization to develop solutions for major athletic clients
- Stay on the cutting edge of Data Science and AI to ensure the company is continuing to push the envelope in the space
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the business and interact with stakeholders
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- MS/ PhD in Biomechanics, Bioengineering, Statistics or similar
- 7 years commercial experience in biomechanical or related field preferred
- History of leading data science projects
- Comfortable partnering with non-technical stakeholders
- Expert with Python (particularly statistical packages), TensorFlow, PyTorch or Keras
- Track record of leading research-focused projects is a plus
- Experience with building machine learning models from vision or imaging data
- Ability to show examples of outside-the-box thinking
- Comfortable in autonomous and collaborative settings
