Job Description

Under the direction of the 2-Bin Project Lead, is responsible for the implementation of 2-Bin Barcoded Periodic Automated Replenishment (PAR) inventory systems, which vary in complexity and magnitude across the System and for the maintenance and upkeep of the 2-Bin program. Follows standard work processes, procedures, and instructions and ensures optimal utilization of resources and compliance with applicable NYC Health + Hospitals policies and procedures, state and federal rules and regulations and safety policies.

Examples of Typical Tasks:

  • Provides direction and support to the materials team ensuring the team is informed of all project changes, decisions, etc. that may affect the success of the project.
  • Prepares status reports with key stakeholders which may include timelines, resource needs, and potential obstacles for each step of the project.
  • Utilizes standard project management tools and summary documents to track and communicate status of projects.
  • Implements PAR inventory systems across the System using barcoded labels and 2-Bin systems; transports and processes excess supplies post-install.
  • Assesses current inventory, including physical inventory.
  • Designs new PAR systems using the existing PAR Model; measures and plans layout of current space to be converted to 2-Bin.
  • Works with local and central supply chain staff, at various levels, on the creation of a PAR facility plan, which includes, but is not limited to, the number of PARs needed, the establishment of a timeline, and the identification of necessary resources (e.g., handheld devices, shelving, label printers). Communicates with leadership on all status updates, required resources assistance and barriers.
  • Maintains all aspects of the 2-Bin program through the daily management system (OMS) and adheres to OMS to ensure that the program functions efficiently by upholding standards, performing maintenance on nodes, and effectively and efficiently addressing customer needs.
  • Performs regular audits and maintenance of nodes and maintains all data records associated with maintenance.
  • Retrofits equipment based on supply area need, including but not limited to, building carts, operating a drill press, cable-tying/cutting and using other hand-held power tools.
  • Manages customer requests and concerns through an appropriate process and responds to customer inquiries and/or complaints concerning inventories and products.
  • Creates and maintains strong relationships in clinical areas, where 2-Bin is implemented, works with all impacted staff and explains processes to clinicians and support teams.
  • Utilizes the Dashboard for daily work and creating reports for clinical and support teams, as needed.
  • Trains end-users on Mobile Inventory or GHX purchasing.
  • Produces the PAR Item Master and hand-off to the PeopleSoft ERP Build Team.
  • Participates in regular team huddles to ensure operations meet the needs of the end-users. Attends and/or participates in relevant meetings, training and quality assurance/performance improvement (QA/PI) activities, as required.
  • Performs related duties, as directed.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Supply Chain Management, Business,
Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline; and one (1) year of
responsible experience in designing, implementing, maintaining and/or improving inventory control and
management systems and programs, of various complexities, and performing other functions directly
related to inventory control, supply chain management, materials management or related area in a
hospital or health care setting; or
2. An Associate's degree in one of the disciplines listed in "1" above, and three (3) years of experience, as
described in "1" above.
