The Role: We believe people are our most important asset, and recruiting great people is critical to Morningstar's future. Our Early Career Programs (ECPs) are one of the largest pipelines of people into Morningstar, and we're looking for a bright, energetic, and driven individual to serve as the University Recruiting Manager for North America. You'll sit at a critical intersection between Talent Acquisition and Early Career Programs to scale our early career pipeline of talent. You'll provide leadership, planning, and execution for Morningstar's North American University Recruitment strategies which includes direct management of high-volume, end-to-end full cycle campus recruitment. You'll focus on developing, managing, and enhancing strategic partnerships between our organization and university contacts to support organizational goals. Additionally, you'll lead continuous improvement activities pertaining to candidate experience and selection processes.

This role reports into the Director of Career Development and Transformation, with a matrixed relationship into the Director of Talent Acquisition, and is based in our Chicago office.

What You'll Do

  • Lead all hiring for early career programs including Morningstar Development Programs and Internship Programs. You'll also oversee internal recruiting for Morningstar Development Program participants.
  • Identify potential university partners, foster relationships, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align university relations strategy, program and organizational goals.
  • Develop and facilitate recruitment initiatives designed to increase candidate attraction.
  • Oversee programmatic hiring processes, timelines, and metrics. Ensure we are on track to meet hiring targets while maintaining a high caliber of candidates and consistent, diverse pipeline.
  • Regularly communicate University Recruiting metrics, KPIs and insights with key stakeholders, including members of the Executive Leadership Team. This includes evaluating performance and impact of university partnerships against predefined metrics and objectives.
  • Plan and manage activation of university events including managing all forms of communication and elements of event planning and evaluating value and cost effectiveness in accordance with strategy.
  • Work as part of a talent acquisition leadership team to identify ongoing talent development needs, process/efficiency improvements, and innovative ideas.
  • Own standard operating procedures for all University Hiring, ensuring all documentation is available and up to date. Work with the Early Career Programs and TA teams to determine quality procedures that adhere to our hiring philosophy and the long-term vision.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for technology-related implementations of University Hiring processes with our People Technology team and manage the vendor relationships (i.e. Workday, Yello, etc.)
  • Proactively identify process improvements and opportunities to streamline, automate, and transition work to centralized teams.
  • Train and instruct People & Culture, interviewers, stretch projects supporting University Hiring on processes and programs related to University Hiring.
  • Liaise with counterparts in ECP and Operations across the globe to share best practices and ensure consistency of process and employee experience.


Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience leading a Campus/University Hiring team.
  • Excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, strong analytical skills and curiosity.
  • Demonstration of a high level of discretion and professionalism relating to sensitive or confidential information.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and proactively take responsibility.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
