Responsibilities

Accountabilities 1. Processes surgical instrumentation by decontamination (cleaning) utilizing various mechanical or manual methods.2. Prepares trays and packs by organizing in a prescribed manner while carefully checking for broken or missing items.3. Performs sterilization procedures utilizing several of acceptable methodologies.4. Reports defective or missing items to the team leader or manager.5. Maintains storage and adequate supplies of sterilized instrumentation.6. Provides department support to staff by assisting them in locating an item.7. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:MINIMUM REQUIRED: High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSMINIMUM REQUIRED: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Certification from IAHCSMM OR Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Certification from CBSPD.

PREFERRED: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA).
