Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm)

Compensation depends upon candidates years of experience.

Minimum Salary: $70,000/annually

We are seeking a PPS Coordinator at our Dallas Rehabilitation Hospital!

The ideal candidate will have experience with Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI)

Responsibilities:

Coordinates the data collection on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI), ensures the presence of supporting documentation, and provides staff education to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines. Coordinates all efforts for immediate issue resolution concerning IRF PAI scoring items. Conducts ongoing review of IRF-PAI related data, and assists the PPS Manager with IRF-PAI completion.

Job Duties:

  • Confers with the patient and clinical team members regarding the scoring of IRF PAI items, follows up on any inconsistencies, and, when necessary, assesses the patient to confirm the correct score.
  • Reviews Rehabilitation Impairment Categories and admission ICD-10 codes to assure congruence and proper Coding for the IRF-PAI. Makes any necessary changes in collaboration with the clinical team and physician.
  • Works directly with any clinical department to focus on documentation trends and corrective action to assure that the Medical Record documentation supports the IRF-PAI documentation.

  • Assists the PPS Manager with PPS functions including but not limited to: IRF-PAI data collection, medical coding, IRF-PAI transmittals, and IRF-PAI correction.
  • Based on medical record review, assists in compiling data, tracking trends, and provides feedback to the clinical team regarding documentation, including providing input as to staff training needs.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and staff education to ensure that staff is provided the tools and support they need to accurately document scores and co-morbidities according to CMS standards and guidelines for completion of the IRF PAI.
  • Provides coverage for PPS in the PPS Managers absence.
  • Participates in PPS related committees and meetings as assigned.
  • According to need, provides coverage at other sites for PPS staff.
  • Performs all other duties as requested.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current state licensure in nursing or allied health profession
  • Minimum of two years experience in rehabilitation or a closely related field required

Preferred Experience

  • RN Preferred
  • Experience with ICD 10 coding preferred
  • Experience with IRF-PPS preferred
