Job Title: Quality Control Assistant

Department: Quality

Summary Assists the Quality department with the development, application, and maintenance of products and quality standards for industrial processes and materials by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in the development of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Will participate in the development and implementation of methods and procedures for the disposition of discrepant material and devising methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • Assist in corrective action and preventative action items in resolving customer, supplier, and production issues.
  • Create and maintain ballooned drawings, part specifications, dimensional forms, and Excel spreadsheets in support of the Company APQP system.
  • Participate in ECNs as assigned.
  • Disposes of obsolete files as needed - must comply with record retention policies.
  • Maintains Quality-mandated calendar activities, KPI, Internal audits, process audit schedules, and Problem Control.
  • Monitors and facilitates monthly reminders for calendar activities.
  • Monitors and supports other quality reporting functions as needed.
  • Supports Quality meetings and tracks open issues as required.
  • Assists in keeping office supplies stocked as needed.
  • Assists with special visits requiring lunch activity as needed.
  • Supports Quality continuous improvement activities as needed.
  • Assist with data collection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, plus minimum one-year relevant experience. Blueprint reading and Excel spreadsheet experience are required. Must demonstrate good written communication skills.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
