POSITION SUMMARY:

The Off Highway/Heavy Equipment SME will support the company s technical needs regarding mechanical activities in identifying viable solutions for the marketplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the expert in areas of automotive, commercial vehicle, or heavy equipment diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Work with the Content Management Group to produce innovative features in Noregon products that present industry leading ROI to our customers.
  • Provide input to monthly product boards on various analysis as requested.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Product Managers with respect to appropriate information and information flow within Noregon Products to ensure product features are well thought out.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associate degree in a Diesel technology or related field.
  • Experience in working with automotive/commercial vehicle/ heavy equipment network protocols, specifically data and diagnostic layers required.
  • 5 years of experience as technician in automotive, commercial vehicle, or heavy equipment industry required.
  • ASE certification preferred.


ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge of database tools preferred-not required.
  • Strong reasoning and debugging skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
  • Process-oriented.
  • Ability to think and work independently.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some on- and off-site vehicle testing and/or demonstration is required. This would require the ability to enter heavy-duty trucks and gain access to various engine components as needed, in addition to standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, and stooping, as necessary.
  • Basic motor skills and manual dexterity for extensive computer usage are required.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time is required.
  • Talking, hearing and close vision abilities are required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
  • Stress may occur with changing priorities, tight deadlines, and long hours.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 15%
