Marine Operator - LNG


Job Details

Airswift is looking for a Marine Operator to work for a major LNG client in Houston, for an initial 4-month assignment likely to be extended.

KNOWLEDGE

Understanding of all facets of hydrocarbon liquids transportation, storage and processing including detailed knowledge of the LNG value chain.

Understanding of International and National Regulations pertaining to all aspects of operations, of LNG terminals and vessels including relevant CFR s

Knowledge and experience of OCIMF Marine Assurance processes.

Understanding and detailed knowledge of Ship-shore compatibility for LNG Carriers

RESPONSIBLITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Responsible for providing maritime assurance advice on the condition and operational quality and safety of vessels employed in the transportation of hydrocarbons (LNG, bunker fuels) for any Company asset or business activity worldwide, discussing required remedial actions with respective fleet managers accordingly.

Responsible for monitoring and follow up of Vetting requests in CMAS (Company Marine Assurance System) and for proactive review/follow up of PSC Inspection reports, SIRE reports, Incident Reports for LNG Carriers and Bunker vessels proposed for Company business or nominated by foundation customers

Responsible for maintaining the worldwide terminal database and developing the Ship/Shore compatibility database in support of CMI s global trading pattern.

Responsible for Ship / Shore compatibility process linking with the local marine teams, commercial operations and respective fleet managers.

Responsible for producing monthly reports covering all HSSE and Marine Assurance activities

Responsible for follow-up of HSSE incidents and/or operational events on CMI-Chartered vessels and customer-nominated vessels

Assist in development of, and maintenance of, LNG Carrier Fuel and Heel Management tool and associated databases

Participate in Emergency Drills and Exercises with Ship Managers, Owners and Terminals to ensure that an effective response can be available for any Marine related incident.

Participate in new business development opportunities.

Promote a positive safety culture by active participation in development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure high performance standards.

Participate in duty rota as required.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS)

Education and Certifications:Bachelor s degree or equivalent, Master s degree is a plus.

Experience: 3+ years of experience inclusive of a minimum 6 months maritime experience in junior rank onboard Gas or Oil tankers or working within LNG Terminal support role. Experience of International and National marine assurance systems and processes e.g. SIRE and USCG CoC is beneficial.

Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries and governmental agencies.

Good report writing skills

Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.

Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.

Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.

Auditing skills beneficial

WORK CONDITIONS

Required to be available during normal office hours and accept that a measure of flexibility outside of such hours may also be necessary to properly fulfill duties, obligations, and assignments;

Likely to be contacted, when necessary for conducting company business, to exchange communications or for conducting extraordinary assignments during weekends, holidays, and after hours;

May be required to attend and participate in industry or company conferences, expositions, community gatherings, meetings, training, or other such events and activities;

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may often be required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, traverse ladders and catwalks, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write;

Must be able to comfortably board various types of vessels via a gangway or ladder, and have prior experience doing so with a solid understanding of the safety requirements of personnel transit between vessels and terminal facilities;

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work mostly indoors, but will often have occasions necessitating a presence outdoors, and may be periodically exposed to year-around weather conditions, ocean coastal environment, noise, and occasionally spurious process gases and vapors;

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus;

Must possess a valid passport and undertake occasional company-assigned travel via various air, land, or water transportation modes between, and within, the United States and its possessions and foreign countries;

Subject to continuously maintaining a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential ( TWIC ) card, per applicable federal regulations, and required drug and alcohol testing.
